REFLECTIONS

They say:

To fathom the other
Look unto them.

I say:

To fathom the other
Look unto thyself.

Pity the poor chap
Who cannot endure a headache
Yet dreams to be a doctor !

Dreams are dreams
Only when it disturbs the sleep.

EDUCATION - THE ELIXIR TO ALL OUR MALADIES

It is extremely difficult to talk about education without sounding repetitive or appearing imitative. Yet it seems that all the bygone efforts were insufficient and it is the need of the hour that we all mobilize our energies to create greater awareness about the importance of education. In fact it is not awareness that we need but solutions to our daunting problems in education. Considering the complexities of our maladies it is naive talking about 'an elixir'. But one can justifiably argue that however complex be the composition of that 'elixir to all our maladies', education would be its base ingredient. We can no longer afford illiteracy and poor education as its impacts are becoming direct and enormously wide in range. Issues that will get affected spans from political choices to class asymmetries to economy of the nation. In order to unleash the latent potential in our human resources we have no better key than education. If we have to realize the Indian dream we will have to destroy the darkness of ignorance with the lamp of education.

If not OBAMA.......then who ?

I am from the very outset keeping away all the promises from Obama that are yet to be delivered and focusing only on what he has done so far. If we recall the international atmosphere when he was taking over the post from his predecessor, the situation was that the whole world believed in an 'inevitable clash of civilisations' between the Islamic world and the West. Even theories were crafted to vindicate the inevitability of the clash. Another war over Iran was looming around. The terror networks were capitalising on this for recruiting and strentghening their outfits. Legal and illegal terrorists were working hand in hand, supplementing each other through their actions, putting the peaceful existence of humanity at stake.

1) Obama exposed the hollowness of the dangerous myth of the clash of civilisations. By being willing for unconditional dialogues based on mutual respect, he rejuvenated the teachings of bygone masters by illustrating to us that dangerous myths can be shattered through meaningful talks. He did mitigate the tension and hostility to a very considerable extent.

2) It goes to the credit of Obama that he was able to push terror outfits into ideological bankruptcy by openly admitting mistakes and declaring his commitments to protect the dignity and worth of all nations and all people.

3) Let us not underestimate the power of sensibly crafted words in changing the attitudes and visions of the people. To those who says that words are empty, let me add that the words from a person of credibility are like seeds of virtuous ideas sown into a fertile ground.

Bringing the 'enemy' to the table for talks, there by converting them to friends is the essence of peace. Instilling hope in the minds of millions of the possibility of a better world is the best preparation for the future peace. Politicians committing oneself to ideologies of people like Gandhi is the need of the hour. Congrats Obama ! His accomplishments may be limited, true potentials may be yet to be unleashed, but I cannot think of a better name for the prize at the current moment. Can you ?

Giving a rebirth to GANDHI

In an age empowered with technological advancements like cloning, if one interprets the title as suggesting to dig out the grave of Bappu, he cannot be blamed. But such a suggestion would surely reveal a subtle psychological characteristic of the youth of our period- the unwillingness to entertain anything slow, complex, demanding patience and sacrifice. Yet glimmers of hope that is spreading its influence instills a belief that things are moving towards betterment. Such a juncture is apt to invest one's thoughts on giving a rebirth to Gandhi- the thought structure distinguished by its counterintuitive nature.

An understanding of the essence of Gandhiji demands the capability

-- to appreciate the strength of non-violence
-- humility to acknowledge that we all are shades of black and white
-- willingness to consciously strive with perseverence for change from within etc

to say a few.

Rarely have I come across youngsters who considers Gandhi as worthy of being their role model, for many of them he is too weak for the post ! It is precisely here that we need to put our efforts in effectively presenting the essence and ingeniosity underlying Gandhian teachings. To appreciate violence is easy but non violence is a subtler concept. So is the nature of many of Gandhian ideas. They are decptively simple, seemingly weak and highly counter intuitive in nature.

Fortunately efforts are coming from around the corners of the world. The world's 'strongest man' expressing his desire to dine with 'weak' Gandhi, India's political youth icon trying to model himself around Gandian principles etc are welcome signs. Let us hope that the generation which holds the beacon of hope will open up their hearts and minds to one of the greatest teachers which our nation nurtured and gifted to the world.

HOW CAN WE ? ..... AGAINST PAROCHIAL POLITICS

With all those inspiring episodes from history at our disposal which time and again reaffirmed the spirit of the slogan 'YES WE CAN', if we still doubt in the possibility of the 'impossible', that would be an insult to our intelligence and imagination. So let our starting point be not a discussion about whether we can or not but a question of greater sensibility - HOW CAN WE?
First step towards solving any problem is understanding it, in all its dimensions, in requisite detail and clarity. If the smallness and parochiality of our politics and politicians is our concern, we should begin our effort with understanding the dynamics of our political system and processes. We should be able to separate out the wheat from the trash, facts from wishes and illusions from reality.
The enormous complexity of Indian electoral politics may drive away many from the very beginning, but we should not forget that no challenge is too big for a group of talented, determined and organized youth. 'Experts' will warn us, 'wise' might ask for a reality check but it is for us to decide whether to keep the flame burning or not. Let us not forget that there will come a tomorrow when the accumulated evils of parochial politics may pose difficulties far greater than what is demanded for correcting it today.

BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE.....

We all are patches of black and white. It would be naive refusing to acknowledge this fact and subjecting ourselves to self deception. Our efforts should be, individually as well as collectively, to inject wisdom into our veins and brains so that darkness fades away in steps. This seems to me the first step in being the change we want to see. Perfection may not be a goal that we can accomplish but it can indeed be a sign post that guides us in our journey.

THOUGHTS ON REALISING THE INDIAN DREAM.........

Neither our nation nor humanity can any longer afford a generation of socially disengaged and depoliticized youth. When those who are supposed to be the assets becomes a burden, the country will eventually land up in crisis. Never before society faced so varied a set of crisis in so striking a magnitude. We are living in an era when involvement by the youth in tackling the problems is not an option but an inevitable necessity. It is high time that our intellectual and emotional resources be channelized towards the creation of a planet where life is not under threat. A consideration, isolating problems into fragmented cubicles as if they are unrelated would not only be naive but extremely dangerous and misleading. Let us put our heads and hearts together to articulate a vision, so that we can explicate a road map for execution. Let us have a dream called India so that we shall realize it. The concern for humanity be ingrained in all our thoughts and actions. Yes...let us elucidate our thoughts on realizing the Indian dream- Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavandhu........

FLIRTING WITH ONTOLOGY

The finite chasing the infinite - that is the human story
Haunted by the urge for coherence, completion and perfection.

In the beginning there exists expectations
Occasionally what follows is a nothingness
And associated anticipations and illusions.

Learning to accept nothingness as a part of reality
Is like severing a rusty old bond of trust and relation
Or leaving the ancestral home for stranger terrains
A despair, an angst, a silence and a void accompanies.

Probabilities are nothing but possibilities
Seldom appeals to the palates obsessed with clarity
When certainty is dancing nude, why phantasy !

Poets are dreamers...Rarely feels at home with what is
Do they posses insights which betrays the naked eyes
Who knows.........Better who cares........

ATTENTION, BOREDOM AND MARKET.

Inability to focalise attention results in the genesis of boredom. Attention is the inevitable prerequisite, gateway to higher order thinking skills. Thus failure to focus attention curtails down at the very outset any meaningful intellectual interaction with the surroundings, there by drawing veil over all possible opportunities. It might be this depressing scenario which is manifesting in the affective realm as boredom. Anxiety will lurk beneath as the windows to the world are in a closed situation. This anxiety may generate pain. Since any attempts at solution requires focalisation of attention, inability of which was the root cause of all the problem, a difficult to break circularity is generated. As such pain, boredom etc will be with us like a haunting shadow....so will be the market that thrives on it.

LET THERE BE A DREAM .............

Let there be a dream.....a dream of a world where survival depends not on mutual exploitation but symbiotic relationships based on empathy and compassion. Exploitation has become the hallmark of modern day living. Deep inside the foundations of every endeavors lies hidden the ugly variants of avarice and greed...age old human follies. Unfortunately intelligence which is supposed to play the rescuer is being hijacked which adds to the complexity of the problem. Critical thinking is no longer an intellectual luxury, but an inevitable survival prerequisite at least to be aware of the intricacies and undercurrents, spare being free. It is high time that we have a dream, a dream powerful enough to disturb our complacency. Let there be a dream....and we shall realize it.

DECLARATION OF MY EMANCIPATION

Here I bid adieu to my desires and wishes
Here I am vomiting out the dogmas I swallowed
Here I submit myself to the laws of nature
And the well being of my fellow companions
Totality of both constitute to me what wise men called god.

Here I accept my limitations with no fear
The constraints of mother nature with cheer
Here I declare my engagement with reality
The feminine beauty often abhorred and ignored
For I saw her naked through the black veil
Greenly veins and bliss over her fair bosoms.

Doors are closed forever to those who knows everything
For knowing nothing is too grave a sin to be forgiven
The maxim of skepticism and provisionality henceforth reign

The filthy hands of corrupt society shall not touch me anymore
The bogus preachers of baloneys shall better stay away
For I value my chastity
Would like to safeguard my virginity.

ENLIGHTENED IN THE DARK

For decades I have been talking
Now in listening is my longing

For years I have been condemning
Now in contemplation is my being

Grown jailed deep in the dungeon of ignorance and dogmas
Caught up in the vicious cycle of intrusions and suppressions
Darkness, devil, illusions and hallucinations were my soul mates

Yet pure was my heart
Sincere was my spirit
The devil couldn't resist
Fell in love, self sacrificed

For mine sake she committed suicide
Her only wish was redemption of her kid

In the eyes of that pretty innocent creature
There was a ray of light, gifted by nature

With that single ray, I am searching for heavens
Where me and my mate got accursed once

I am prepared for an argument with god
To forgive the devil, halt the shedding of blood

When me, god and devil stand side by side
Whom do you think is to be blamed

From the cradle the little creature whispered in silence
'Welcome to the world of no blames and eternal moments'

AFTER THE MEDITATION ......(a poem)

In those moments of meditation
When I was under annihilation
Dissolving in the infinite mysteries
There was darkness, light and silence

Moments of order in the eternity of chaos
Reminded me of my origin and my destination

But I was fearless.....
Yes....I was fearless.....

I slowly opened my eyes
And saw a new world
Cleaner, beautiful and more ordered.

IN SEARCH OF THE ISLAND OF SILENCE......(a poem)

When I withdrew my self from the crowd
Turmoil of a stranger shade raised its head

Silence, like a shadow stay always a step away
So is its mature sibling......Tranquility

Long ago we parted
Now I long more than ever...
To be back with my first companion.........

I am reflectively traveling backward
Critically moving ways forward
Gets tired at times, but never sleeps
Hopeful, often crawl, occasionally leaps.

ARROGANT BELLIGERENCE.......(a poem)

The infinity of ignorance
That lay before my naked eyes
Used to induce fear, angst and fever
My feeble mind many a times did shiver

Seemed I was longing to be afraid
Searching for reasons, to be doomed
Exchanging freedom for slavery
What a disgusting irony !

Here now I declare not my independence
But mine arrogant belligerence
The peddlers of nostrums of neurosis
Will no longer roam around in license.

DOUBT, THOUGHT AND ACTION (a poem)

In the bosom of doubt
Lies the temptation for thought

Elegant indulgence in thought
Leads to the calm heaven of belief

And beliefs generates habits of action

But never are we satisfied
The cycle of doubt, thought and belief goes on.

The sensuality of the intellectual
Keep ablaze the lamp of creativity.

REGAINING THE LOST PARADISE (a poem)

Let us not hate it all

Let us not hate mistakes
Let us not hate darkness
Let us not hate doubts
Let us not hate failures......

Let us transform it all

Let the abhorrence quiver the arrow of longing
Let that arrow trigger us into high flying

In that flight let us sublimate
Then alone will everything be bright

Hatred of darkness is trite
Unless germinates the seeds of light

As per religion we are fallen angels
As per reason we are risen apes

We differ in the conception of origins
Never in the direction of destination

Let us nurture the infant of humanity
Let her glory transcend eternity

My life, the only companion left,
Sits beside weeping.

IN THE INNER WORLD

How am I to extinguish this fire
Where am I to find a solace

I wandered from street to street
Was rejected everywhere and abhorred

The sharp edge of humiliation
Blinded me to the outer world

Masquerades and manipulations
Forced me inward, into meditation

Mine inner eyes started opening
Akin to that of a blossoming infant

Thus I saw a new world, in it a new life
It was different in that it got meaning

Sincerity and toil never orphans
The best of companions and virtues

Now in the seven storied building of art
I too will light a candle.

A LOVE STORY

This story is of a boy who fell in love not knowing that he was penning down the verses of his own tragic autobiography.........

Boy was honest ....intelligent with islands of ignorance........and innocence..........

Dreams unlimited was his forte....as such he was always in despair and thoughts.........

The girl was sweet, fair like a dove.........with smile like the fragrance of a rose........

No one knows how they fell in love......neither the boy nor the girl....nor any one.......not even the lord.........

May be that is why they never came together............may be the god was not happy..........

Both of them loved their lord very much...........may be the god was afraid........

Or is it that she never liked him.....or was the boy insincere.....who knows...!

Knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously she always wanted to keep him away.....

Reasons were different at different times...personal, family, societal............ but the effect was always the same....

She was not cruel, ruthless or stony hearted..........she too wanted to love......but an invisible hand was always pulling her away..........

His hands were free, there were no chains in his feet....yet he hesitated to hold her hands with strength.........may be an invisible wind was pulling him too away .......

Greatest love stories on this earth were all tragedies........let it be of majnoon....or anarkali...........

Unfulfilled dreams and unhealed wounds gave birth to the master works in arts and sciences..........

And we all believe and hope that one day ...one evening......we all will fly back to that nest we always wanted to..........

And in it we will fall asleep...........and in that sleep all our dreams will be reborn ......in that dreams we will find our lost life and lost happiness.........

Having told all these ...you may be eager to know who this boy is.........may be some want to share a few lines with him............

Look around !........you will find him.....standing alone some where........deeply involved in something..........

You will find her............with a heavy heart..........concealed with a plastic smile............silent and patient......in some corner.......

If you are tired of looking around ....look at the mirror.........

Still if you are not finding......just close your eyes .....and in that solitude, travel back silently through the roads of yesterday..........

Our stories and destinies are not always distinct...but often shared.....

Mine and your sorrows are not always mine and yours ......but often ours.........

Though seldom do we acknowledge..........

And rarely truths are convenient......

The Holy War

I knoweth the ways and means
I discovered the ways and means

No more regression into the primitive world
No more rejoicing in the lower layer
No more encouragement to diversions
No more flirting with illusions

Now the ugly dragon will be taken head on

In the land of bliss I will stand
High above for the common hand

I will let my black horse advance
Dissection, detachment and dislodging
Along with clean murders and attacks

I knoweth the ways and means
Now the ugly dragon will be taken head on.

TODAY:

I knoweth....
I ought to be away from thee
Still I am hovering around your castle

Do I really knoweth?
Or is it just an illusion.....

Oh DESIRE....
With what have you adorned yourself
My senses - unawares of wisdom
Is still hovering around your castle.

TOMORROW:

After the lengthy hours of today's sleep
The lonely hours of my meditation
In the solitude of tomorrow's dawn
When I disown you like a stranger
Oh desire - my childhood companion
Do not abuse, accuse me of ingratitude
I acknowledge...and will acknowledge
You breast fed me as a toddler.

With those unsung songs.......once forgotten ones..........in a new voice....sweeter than the earlier........

Today I can open the magical box of fairy tales and fill your empty moments with.....
.....gems........unseen, untouched and unique.......

Like the kid feeding her baby doll with folded tender leaves.......appear before mine eyes my beloved.........and quench mine thirst too.......

I will tell you the stories of fairies........who took births as butterflies to romance with the flowers down.........

Once again my dear..........allow me to feel the rhythm of your heart beats ............. warmth of your breath.........your dove like innocence..............

To My Muslim Brethren and Sisters.....

Oh.. my Muslim brethren and sisters..
Thine lord has sent you three books
Ye took the shortest ...out of laziness
And is reading it with closed eyes
From a restricted corner of darkness.

In thine forehead is the stamp of self deception
In thine mind lies neither analysis nor affection
Humiliated, thou silently takes pride in crime
Stands bewildered in the threshold of death and life.

Give your ears to the trumpet of a renaissance
Inject in your veins the spirit of Muhammed
Let the fragrance of the sweat of super man break forth.

Ignore the comments from the street
For most of them knows you not
Rest have fear lurking beneath.

Once the three books are merged into one
Nature, the beloved and the holy text
And the verse that proclaims 'mercy to the mankind' read aloud
Air of freedom filled with peace will decorate the land
Unheard melodies will spring forth from the desert sand
Tagore, Rumi and Blake will dance hand in hand.

IGNORANCE..........the daughter of DARKNESS......

How dare you utter my master's name
You were with the public, when with him was no fame

With your petty ego and petty morality
You are discussing his philosophy....I pity...

Do you understand a single word of it
Oh sorry...how does it matter for you the hypocrite

But remember...your world is his charity
He spared you.....that was his magnanimity

If thy judge his benevolence to be his weakness
Beware...I was one of the earliest of his disciples

Why don't thy learn some history
And judge thyself and feel some mystery

The ugly mask of your virtues and mastery
Were torn apart in day light in past, repeatedly

Thine chair on which thy trust is superficial
My heart in which I trust is perfectly real

Thy operates in darkness and fear
My reliance is on light and blunt truth

Tonight you have won....oh ignorance
But tomorrow chanting my master's name wont suffice

To his words I am ever patient
Wisdom is his name...let it make you impatient.

Teach me ....Ye..Zarathusthra.............

When I could barely roam
They jailed me in a juvenile home
They called it school
As usual, their lies are subtle

Hours of boredom and embarrassment
Why are they doing it to me...
I never did anything to them.....
Why poke into other's when you have one

To my surprise...they also claim credits
For keeping the little lambs 'on track'
They stole my paradise and proclaim to be messiah
As usual their lies are subtle

Once they threatened to hang me
When I saw the rope, I was shocked
I saw the joined hands of my father and the teacher
As usual their lies are subtle

Teach me ...ye.. Zarathusthra.........
Teach me the art of living.....
Save the infants from the crooked
Else darkness will reign eternal

Let us meet in secret, I will call my companions
They killed mighty Socrates cold bloodedly in open
We students, our murder's wont even get recorded
Not that we fear death, but from their hands....nay....

Here is my oath of allegiance
Offer me just clear and free air
I swear, my feet wont complaint
My heart is burning, so what is fire.....!

In Search of Light..........A Tribute to Vayalar.......

Here is a gem from the treasury of a lover of beauty..........whose eternal romance .......still remains as a matter of pride to the God's Own Country....
With the highly seductive malayalam at his disposal he let his creativity speak........... and it was all music.................
Philosophy was his play ground...yet he boldly declared......'I will not loveth any philosophy.....That does not loveth a melancholic soul'...........

Attempted here is a translation [or an interpretation] of one of the famous songs of Vayalar Ramavarma.............Pravachakanmare parayoo.................

Oh... messengers and messiahs .......
Tell us how long still the darkness will stay.....

Oh....architect of the universe.......
Tell us when the shower of light is destined......

The edifice of the first enlightenment is collapsing before our eyes......
We can see the perplexed faces of the custodians of divinity.............wandering aimlessly with their gazes fixed in the sky..........

Virtues and justice have opted meditation.....
Now they have long hairs and beards uncombed.....

Oh ...speak out ...messengers and messiahs....
Has thou too abandoned us........

The battle field in which once history was rewritten......the chariot is stand still
The warrior has no weapons in his hands.......

The smoke from the ashes of the burned books of philosophies is vainly roaming in air......

Oh beholders of poetic languages ..............why this silence.........where is the song...........

SERENE DROPLETS

I was too small a kid then
When that song was sung

The story of a grandma, serene
With a boy lying on her lap, in silence

Accumulated affection in her voice
And the boy was experiencing a bliss

In the evening of her life, narrating clear
The misery filled verses of an adventure

The flow of emotion was pure
Like the stream of love within her

The journey of a prince risking everything
Crossing seven seas ....seven walled building...
In search of his beloved....
Chained and bonded

Every step was a gamble with life
Fire within kindled by hope and love
Let him never feel tired or wearied

So touching and captivating was the description
Yet the little face revealed a gloomy distraction

The deep eyes of the old lady saw everything
She ignored and continued holding him closer and tighter

Till in trembling words the tender voice queried
" If I cross the seven oceans, go over seventy forts
Open seven hundred mighty doors....
Will I again be able to see my little sister..."

Droplets of tears fell from the venerable eyes
In it was present the essence and salt of life

Some memories never ever fade
With them is the pillars of culture made.

Is Life Really Beautiful ?

We often hear the phrase 'Life is Beautiful'. Is it just a statement uttered when one, trapped in the dry cycle of alternating pleasure and displeasure, gets an escape from a desperation or does it really mean what it says. If life really is beautiful, immediately the question of 'in what sense' follows. And it is not an easy one when viewed in the daylight of history. Chaos, distress and pain have been haunting us from time immemorial. We have been killing each other in almost every age. The deceptiveness of the statement is further exposed when one have a look at various schools of religious thoughts. Almost all of them either tacitly or explicitly preaches detachment. The glad tidings of a better future itself indicates there is something seriously wrong with the present. In view of all these things the truth value of the usage that 'Life is Beautiful' comes under suspicion. It sounds more like an encouraging line to fool oneself than a factual one. Fooling oneself, though sounds derogatory is a highly common tactic employed by a great majority to act as an aid in overcoming the hurdles that we come across. In short literally the statement has little merit. But there exist the possibility of an artistic interpretation, which in order to be clear demands good amount of homework from the subject.

The day he suppressed those tears
And shed it in solitude and silence

Giving reasons and excuses, betrayed
Deep inside there was a whisper
That 'you are definitely an outsider'

The day when he realized the reality
That everything was a drama of necessity
The drops appeared on forehead, instead of eyes
And the feet followed the path of loneliness

Indifference of god to dreams
Insincere words of empty consolations
Made him an adherent ardent
Of dissection and detachment

USE of FEAR

Fear serves only the meek. It is a default reaction against a danger situation and in no way should be confused with solution. Solution demands analysis and action. Reality should be unconditionally acknowledged. But majority of the individuals lack these skills. Better to remark that they are rarely seriously nurtured. In such cases, a flight from reality helps at times. This attitude in its totality can be grossly described by the word 'fear'- a charity from nature for the poor or the beggar.

mashoodkk

Fear and Speech

Casual thought hints at a linear causal relation between apprehension and stammering. A fearful anticipation in connection to future robs of the confidence that is a necessary prerequisite for a free flowing and captivating speech. At the extreme end lies the situation of becoming speechless, the state of the psyche completely conquered by fear.

PHANTASY TO REALITY

Glorious journey in the chariot of phantasies
Took me to the valley of unbounded sorrows

At the end of the path stood the lady of death
With her beautiful arms wide stretched

She offered me nights of eternal bliss
And unending entertainment with songs of silence

Impressed by the ecstasy in my eyes
She unveiled to me her secrets precious

Mesmerized by my innocence and spirit
She nurtured me with her warmth

The nature of her love was unearthly in essence
It bore the clear stamp of selflessness

She taught me the secrets of feminine wisdom
My happiness and sorrows were redefined

Held tight my hands, to the gateway of reality

REAFFIRMING UNITY

It has almost become a fashion statement to say that each individual is unique. When viewed with a critical eye the statement opens up issues that need to be dealt more carefully. Uniqueness implies difference which has constructive as well as destructive dimensions. Let our eyes focus on the later dimension which is of more current relevance. Gulf of difference is often projected as the justification for sectarianism of all sorts, no matter it be racial, geographical or ideological. As such it would not be too far fetched to say that in difference lies the root of destruction. Any way it cannot be denied that difference exists and it will continue to exist. But the real problem lies not in accepting the trivial differences but ignoring the facts of greater fundamental importance, which has been repeated by great souls across centuries. In the words of Barack Obama it goes as

'We have stakes in one another'....... ' What binds us together is greater than what drives us apart'

SCIENCE, FACTS and ART

Poincare remarked " Science is built up of facts, as a house is built of stones; but an accumulation of facts is no more a science than a heap of stones is a house." It requires a sense of aesthetics and sublime artistic ingeniosity to search for and arrive at coherence amongst apparently disconnected perplexing complexity. At that level the narrow line of distinction between real science and true art struggles to maintain its identity than elsewhere. It seems there exists a subtle mechanism in our social structure to exalt any individual who endeavors in this search for order, to the lofty heights of admiration and heroism.

On Love, Solitute and Selfishness

'The best way I think to keep a human relationship never break is to always keep a little distance between'. Like an expert I spoke........never realizing why....

.............The friend who was listening replied me that I am selfish.............which in turn provoked me to continue with my sermon ..................

'..................but at times the fact is that the unselfish persons are powerful enough to with stand a break up........friendship, blood, or marital..........but the poor selfish guy......because of his inherent weakness will not be able to bear it.............so he always with his little intelligence takes an initial defensive stand...may be because of prior experiences...................he is always fearful and tries to revert to his hole................lives there in his own world.............but deep inside his heart are often unhealed wounds and desire to love everyone and to be loved by every one..........a repression which he cant overcome easily............and often gets converted to hours of tears in silence.............

public calls them selfish, unsocial or idiots....and wonder why they are doing so........no point in blaming public...they cant afford to look into every ones history....

.....i believe even the deadliest criminal doesn't want him to be so.............to love, be loved, smile and be happy is a fundamental longing of every human as per to me.........but the game of destiny sometimes plays cruel and the human mind gets shattered for ever...........some tries to put it back to order......some succeed...some not.......some take strange configurations.........which every one hates......................'

I felt like having given a captivating discourse and went home. Just before sleep a thought flashed through my mind ......'after all is not the need for love a longing for attachment....and is not attachment a weakness...........'......... Later I realized that even if it is a truth it is an inconvenient one......

FEAR, IMAGINATION and AMBIVALENCE

At the root of ambivalence is fear. Fear is almost impossible without imagination. The department of imagination within, fabricates a horrible speculative imagery of a moment in future. Then it exhibits and exposes the imagery to the self. If the self is idiotic enough the feet trembles else it realizes the futility of the truth value of the imagery and discards it.

Who is the real BEGGAR?

A beggar is not he who begs. But who need not beg but still begs. So begging is an attitude. It is true that many of us occasionally begs, are forced to conform to or obey an authority out of fear. As long as the flame of intrinsic distress is burning, there is hope. But the moment one starts enjoying keeping the hands cupped, submitting to a superficial authority, ever ready for compromise, never showing any sign of revolt even covertly, has lost the ethical chastity for ever. By this I am not endorsing beggary with a covert displeasure. The supreme virtue lies in him or her who keeps the head straight without conditions with the mind calm, hands strong and clarity of vision intact . Even if there doesn't exist a single penny in his pocket still he is THE KING. Unfortunately the worst fate is going to be not of the perfect beggar but who lies in the middle, who will mourn at the end 'I have burnt to ashes even without burning'.
